I've laid a patio as such:-
Tamped existing hogging / made ground
50mm blinding of ballast:sharp:cement
100-150mm scalpings (Type1)
4:1 damp screed bed
A few cuts to do around te edge of building
I now have to leave it for just over a week as I'm going away - it will be unpointed until I return.
Do you see any problem with the above??
I was thinking of covering it with a membrane but I've been told the rain will actually help????
Also, when I return I was thinking of applying a Lithothin MS sealer / colour intensifier before doing the pointing (which will be a 3:1 wet mortar) --- anyone any opinion on if that's right or how it would look???
Any advice grateully recieved.

LLL --- what I did was
Tamped the ground
Laid a 3:1 Ballast:Dust blinding layer
100-150mm type 1 and tamped that.
Then nominal 50mm 4:1 Sharp Sand:Dust bed.
Finished this Sunday evening and just had a wander over it and all solid.
Will be pointing it up next Friday on return from holiday.
