Hi Guys,
I am laying slate paving and having used the info here and various emails to Tony, now have the confidence to tackle this job.
I am using a 6:1 full mortar bedding mix (dryish i.e. just holds when squeezed in the hand) and applying SBR slurry to the underside of each slab before laying.
The problem I have is some of the slabs are still loose after the mortar has set, these slabs are not "rockers" and I have lifted them and applyed SBR to the mortar and re-layed the slab (mixed success).
I must be doing something wrong but cant figure it out, any ideas?
Thanks
Trevor

Use this stuff vdw840 you can get it at www.nccinaction.co.uk I can’t recommend it enough did a job with limestone 25mm thick. Once this sets it sticks them to each other lovely finish as well

Use Ronafix instead of just water in the mortar - 1:1 Ronafix:water added to your cement and sand mortar
and
Use Ronafix with cement, 1:1, as your bonding slurry.
