I have asked my building merchants for one of the products for level threshold on the front door where the wheelchair ramp has to go, like the Hepworth one. They do not even bother to stock them, they get them to order, they are expensive and they tell me they rarely sell any. I gather that builders have found a cheaper, practical solution. Does anyone know a solution?

Fall away from the building and/or use a standard linear channel.

is it for yourself fred or a client?

I have done loads of these for the LA and as the gaffer says its a lineal channel, but believe it or not they must have a 900 by 1200 flat area, for wheelchair user to rest while getting his/her keys out,
then the ramp falls away from this at not more than 16:1

you have to have 100mm upstands both sides of the ramp to stop the wheelchair falling off too

also to alleviate the 150 below DPC issue we have to cut code 4 lead into the brick work ,wherever the ramp is higher than 150 below

its a lot simpler than it sounds ,but the cost soon racks up

One question, when you install one section of linear drainage in front of the door, where does the water go?

out of the end of the aco if the ramp is elevated (which it normally is in this scenario) or into an existing soakaway
there isnt a great deqal of water from this aco as its more just a weather bar

Thanks, I guess I can just let the water go out at the bottom ends of the channel (maybe put some gravel there, like a mini soakaway)
