i too used a 25 -30 mm bed on a little drive i done for my parents this summer, and when i whacked them down about 5% of the blocks cracked in half they were 50mm driveline i took my time with the subbase as it was my mothers and a bloody good advert for my work due to the busy road location i would go with a 35-50mm bed in future with 50mm and 25-35mm with 60's

I use the rubber mat on 50mm blocks and do a couple of extra passes
