My proposed Indian Sandstone patio will be 59sq/m.
I was considering a linear drain connected to a herringbone network of perforated pipe to drain it.
Is there some way of calculating how much pipe will be needed.
Thanks
Land drainage calculation.

Yes have considered the milk crates.
Was also considering this http://www.pavingexpert.com/drain14.htm
Tony mentioned the herringbones pipes when he did my random layout and that got me thinking, shortly afterwards I was speaking to my mate and has a 50m roll of 125mm perforated pipe that he'll give to me for free. That got me further interested.
The cells I'm guessing would cost 4x£75 ?

I think there is a calculator on the site for the crates, if you then allow say 25mtrs of pipework and bedding (100mm pipe + 50mm surround) being equal to one cube of crates you wont be far off the mark.
You could then probably knock off 30% because you have more surface area to soak into on a herringbone system.
This is obviously dependant on ground type, pipe size and the amount of granular fill you use.
