I'm like that. I get bored of driving very easily so my only interest is to get from A to B.
I tend to buy new bottom of the range cars and run them into the ground.
I had a modest Clio that I bought new 9 years old ago but it was written off, I replaced it with a brand new basic petrol Note that cost £8374 on the road. I intend to keep that going for many years.
Missus car is a 17 year old Orion that we bought new but I'm now fed up with mending it every 5 minutes. Got a Fiat500 on order to replace it which will cost £6925 after the scrappage allowance. We will also run that into the ground but I'm not expecting that one to last 17 years!
I'm not interested in air-con, sat nav and gadgets so am able to buy two new cars for less than what many people spend on one luxury car!
Each to their own, I can appreciate people wanting to aspire to prestigious motors but all I'm interested in is if they work. :)

I am with you guys on this, just scrapped the wifes 19 yo Nissan that i payed 2K for 9 years ago, and replaced it with a 10yo puma (i know, i know a hairdressers car) which with any look will run for another 10 years.

It would break my heart to see something sat on the drive 22 hours a day that i was still paying for.

If you go over 3.5 tonne (combined weight of vehicle and trailer), you need a tachograph fitted in certain circumstances.
For example: if you are hiring out a digger, and delivering it, you must have one fitted.
If you are a builder, and tow a trailer, you need one.
the rules are a bit more complicated than that, and even the police are not all the clued up, but vosa can be fierce about it.
I have had to order my new truck with one fitted because of the number of times the old bill have pulled me over towing the crusher!

3.5t combined trailer and load weight,so about 2.2t load legally.

illegally the disco can tow about 8t combined no probs,on an iforwilliams on the back roads.

Ifor williams do not make a trailer bigger than 3.5t gross, so unless the disco weighs 4.5 tonne, its not possible!
