I've recently put down a raised patio and replaced the manhole cover with a recessed tray. The patio looks great but the cover has four lifting holes which fill with water every time it rains. The water from this then seems to go into the tray, which I'm sure over time isn't going to do a great deal of good to the slabs in the tray.

Can I get some sort of rubber caps to fit over the lifting points?

If i f it a four corner lid i fill the holes with sand to stop water laying in the hole, you can just push it out with a screwdriver if you need to get keys in MSH :)

Even if you could get rubber caps, it's unlikely they'd provide a watertight seal, so they;d be a complete waste of money.

In theory, water filling those lifting eyes won't do any real harm to the paving but if you want to be double-sure, you could drill a 4-6mm dia hole in each to allow the collected water to drain away.

I wouldnt be overly concerned when you consider that amount of condensation you will get on the underside of the manhole cover, these covers and frames are designed for the job.

If its a foul or combined system i wouldn`t go drilling it and breaking any air tight seal.

We spend half our day cleaining out these lifting holes to get the bloody keys in, they soon fill up with compact silt and debris.
