ok boys the two houses above our farm feed into an old 3'x3'x6' deep brick chamber, connected to a secondary chamber for the liquids.
its about 100 years old and not working, raw sewage running out of the top of it and down the field.
so quick bit of history the old couple who owned the big house (5 bed, 3 bath) had a small cottage built in the garden (4 bed 2 bath) connected into the existing house cess pit. sold the big house and moved into the cottage.
so they own the land with the cess pit now but the big house is the main contributor to its contents. i emtied it about 13 months ago with slurry tanker of tractor but in need replacing with a more efficient system.
been on the phone to klargester and hopefully sending a man out to discuss the option but my question anyone used the reed bed systems to discharge from the bio plants as the discharge from this would be very close to a water course/bog.
plus if i install a new bio treatment plant, they'll have to share power costs etc and rights of access??
Septic tank question

Klargester would be the last company i would use for a treatment plant ,there plants are to big and bulky in instalation terms,iI always use a company called C&L fabrications Steve lamb is the man to talk to
http://www.clfabrication.co.uk/
they will design and make a unit to fit your application and your invert levals, klargester will not make to your sizes, you can leagally discharge into the water course from a bio plant with no other treatment all it takes is a fee to enviroment agency i think its £170
i have installed plants from conder, allertons, wpl diamond, klargester and have found C&L to be easyest to fit and run the final efluant quality is very good, most now run on a airblower system and runnning cost is alot cheaper than a circulating pump running 24/7
the only thing with a bio plant it has to be pumped out every 12 months and pumps and blowers cheked over if you dont empty it free from sludge it will pack up i install 4/5 plants a year and have a service contract on them MSH
