Laying over existing flags - Can i leave them down!!

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

hi lads, im thinking of laying some new paving slabs in my rear patio area, the existing flags are the large HEAVY council type they are all perfectly level and what i was wondering is rather than take them up and have to remove them could i lay a bed of morter on top of them and lay the new slabs directly over the existing or is this a big no no?

Put them on ebay and get some other fool to come and take them up for you :D
