I've been trying to find where the classes of mortar are specified. There is an excellent page on this site showing the make up of each class ( I to V ), but where do the classes come from.

I've tried the Specification for Highways works but get lost - is there a BS or BS EN standard?

IIRC, it's a separate BS/EN....

...I can't find it at the mo' but the nearest I have found is "BS4721 Specification for ready mixed building mortars "
