Well, I have 8 days to go before im unemployed for the first time in my life. Ontop of that my house comes as with my job, ive got the house untill the end of the month. Since learning of my impending doom ive been trying to get work, which so far has been fruitless. Ive been out of the trade for a little over a year and a half now, done the odd homer here and there, but struggling to decide upon what the hell im going to do. Its been suggested that i take out an ad in the local paper offering my services, but to be honest, if existing folk cant get the work, how would i expect to get some if any. And i dont want to be wasting money right now, even cut back on the beer, the fags, I walk instead of drive a bit more ( bit of the pain cos im in the middle of nowhere ). So all in all im right up shit creek, the boats got a leak and i could do with a paddle.

Any advice?

First off, don't panic. Things are never as bad as they first seem, and concentrate on possibilities, and not on your problems. Your bank, credit card guys etc etc can all wait, and dont be scared to get help from someone like Myvesta Debt assistance. They will assist you beyond belief and for a nominal sum. If you can't find a reasonable place to move into I (think) by law you cannot be kicked out. Cut your expenses as much as you can and deal in ready cash to pay your daily needs. And dont be too proud to do anything, I've been a draftsman, an engineer a company owner, bricklayer, paver, electrical handyman, day labourer, if thats what it takes - do it. Keep confident, and as Churchill said "fight the b*ggers!" Good luck.

its a bugger when that happens i was there for 3 years myself
i would say if you have nothing at least try and educate yourself maybe take up a degree course on the OU.
we were down to 1 days work this week then got 2 jobs in 24 hrs that will keep us out of trouble till november.
what about the local council? shite payers normally but secure and decent holiday entitlement
also dunno if you have any your way but an allotment is a fairly cheap and worthwhile thing to get into
cheers dude
good luck

If you are not a raving psychopath Stuarty and supply me with a character ref (and no the parole officer won't do!) then you are very welcome to lodge with me till you sort yourself out.
I have a big house that I refurbed and another one I rent out. In return for free room you could mow the two lawns for me and maybe prune a couple of trees.....oh and fix my toilet seat which has fallen off. And that's basically it.
I don't know what area you live now but if you've no objection to moving then I live in Wirral.
I was once helped out in a similar situation and I have never forgotten that kindness.
So if things get too much then "mi casa es su casa"
Good luck mate.

No finder to getting fulltime work :( Theres a chance ill get working at T in the Park for a few days herding up the drunkards into buses. Depending on weather ive got some piece work for a local ag contractor. Other than that no. Plus the motor went into the garage today, quite likely shes going to need some surgery. Typical. Well ive got 2 milkings to do tomorrow and thats me out of fulltime work. As mentioned earlier dont sell your tools, i thought about selling mine when i left the trade but they came in very handy when a few homers came my way.

Acechadwick thats a good offer, but how can i be sure your not a raving psychopath with an offer like that lol :p

Thanks for the advice lads :)

My advice is, Don't buy a gun. :D

Things can be crap at times, I have been there many a time, keep your humour and dig in, if things are really that bad, things can only get better. (unless you buy that gun) see ... humour again :D
