I've been laying re-cycled concrete pavers as a soldier course for a circular patio.
I've used a 9:1 ballast/cement mix.
The pavers don't seem to be firmly stuck in place - a light tap will dislodge them.
Is there something I should do when laying to improve adhesion?
The pavers will require pointing due to the smallish radius (about 5 feet). Will pointing improve things?
Should I tap the pavers out and "glue" them with a thin mortar layer?

Thanks for any help.

There's no need for the blocks to be bonded to the bedding - the haunching is intended to hold them securely in place. Have you haunched the external edge?

I have indeed haunched them - broadly in line with the instructions on your excellent site.

I wondered whether that would be your answer, after sending the post. At the end of the day, none of the other pavers will be bonded either.

Thanks

if it where me in the situation i would double the amount of op and make a slightly wetter mix and use a rubber mallet to seat them firmly, this should do it, give it 48 hrs before testing though.
