romex easy would be good quick and simple for the pointing and you can get it off ebay its only in wigan like rich says it will be full of weeds in no time shame to spoil it, bedding could be a moist sand and cement screed no wacker needed just walk it in you might have to tap them down with a rubber mallett to get them bang on but its quicker than laying them individually???
looking at how well youve stoned up ive every confidence in you

£15 a day to hire one when i enquired robbing feckers........

I have managed to lend one from a mate so i am all set to go now as well as my flags and block arrived this morning and now its in my yard and already looking at what designs i can do but i think simple is nice like below and i might leave the odd flag out along one edge to allow for coloured pebbles and a plant pot so it has good drainage and it will not stain the flag under it.

I have placed a few flags a pavers to give myself some idea on what i am looking at .

that will look very nice n0chex :)

you could lay the flags half bond instead of having straight lines in both directions which will make it look nicer and only entails a few more cuts

Thx for the comment and i am unsure what layout i am going to do and was thinking along the lines of the above picture and in the patio area put the block paving in between each flag.

noticed how expensive it is to hire things when I got a whacker for the first time, catalog price. Spoke to our buyer and found out that my employer gets a 65% discount from all 3 major hire companies. Used my sites job number as a cash hire, the delivery of the rotovator cost more than the weeks hire. :p

Just a few pictures of what i have done the last 2 days ........Ready to lay the flags for the shed so it can go back and give me my patio area back.

Just need to build the step up now near the gate then that small area can also be flagged if you look i have dampened the area with a little water as it gets quite dusty otherwise and the MOT1 seams to bed down a little better also.

This heat is killing me .....too bloody hot !

Time to start laying some flags now .

Indeed - retail plant hire charges are very steep.

Hey guy's ........have faith in me will ya and no they are not just sat on the MOT1 they are bedded down on sand/cement wet mix as you will see if you look close at the ones along the fence as i have pointed them in also as the was a 20mm gap or so between the block and the concrete fence panel.

Sureley the cement all over the white painted breeze block gives it away ? .......:)
