Thanks for all the advice so far, so the general consensus is that I've got a silly cheap price but a crap job...do we reckon that the 1550 is a fair price for the work they've, done, even though it's a piss poor job? Half of me wants to get rid of them as fast as possible, but the other half is saying that it's going to cost an arm and a leg to put right with a proper tradesman, money that I haven't got to spare now.
Ahh, the benefit of hindsight eh?
By the way, someone asked about naming and shaming, I will post their business card on here if that's allowed, once I've got rid of them. Might even be able to get a pic of the rogues themselves

Listen to what these guys are telling you, sack the idiots ( would call them cowboys but a cowboy would take offence) cut your losses and get someone who knows what there doing.
You have to live with this, It`s your house you`ll only regret it if you don't as every time you look at it you`ll know its a mess and it will also cost less to fix now rather than when they have finished.

you mentioned earlier a figure of 52m2 so the price you have paid is a little less than half the price what it would cost to have a perfect job and you would of been more than happy having a 10 year guarantee for only £3 a week more

Pablo,
The comment I made was not intended as an insult,it was supposed to be funny. Bodge once posted a picture of a Gypo in a caravan holding a chicken stating that this was his alter ego as a joke, this was all that I meant. However in hindsight I can see that this may cause offence.
For the record. I would like to state that I have the up-most respect for the Paving/Surfacing contractors on this site who are willing to give up their free time to assist members of the public.
Having worked in the Construction Industry for over 20 years it`s nice to see people who actually care about the work they do, believe me it`s a rare thing these days.
I actually sent MSH a PM stating that he was due an apology.
Best Regards
Rab

I only stated the facts. If I had a Landscaper do work on my house and it was crap he would be told to pack up and get out. I can do crap work myself dont need anyone else to do it!!
What abuse? other than slating my cousin dodgeitandbodgeit and that I suffer from the monthlys, which i dont, I just hate people!
I think the comment about insulting was aimed at me Rab1.

Its typical of how cowboys get work. Davelad was ,I suppose, trying to give the guy a fair go. Unfortunately, by time this has happened, John Wayne is on his hoss and off to the next heist.
Even sometimes, faced with a 6ft6 navvy, most people will cough up just to get rid.
At least Davelad can get an objective view of how it should be done ,and hopefully, can go someway to rectifying it if ,said toss-pot, wont do it.
