Hi
I am in the process of removing tonnes of earth since my garden slopes with house on lower level.
I will be putting in french doors and new patio which will be on the lower level.
Where is the best place to put drainage gulleys ?
On the house side or retaining wall side ?
Also how do you know how many to have.
Here are the prelim plans - http://ext.pavingexpert.com/cgi-bin....;t=6914
I was thinking a long channel the length of the property along the horizontal grey line with the patio sloping towards it ?
This would also lead to a manhole drain as well.
Any thoughts ?
Cheers
Where to situate drain channels ?

That's what I'd do - run the channels around the building as/where required. Make sure your 150mm below DPC is maintained.
