decided to drive to italy,

doh!

managed to blow the car up in france (turbo) had to pay E1750 for repairs,£ 292 for a hire car and E168 for recovery

not the best start to a holiday

back now anyways, considerably lighter in the rear pocket

Bloody hell Tone, not good. Turbochargers these days aren't as strong as they used to be - Renault Laguna Diesels and BMW 320D's seem to eat them for a pastime.

They're overly complex what with variable vane geometry, seems they can't stick the pace.

my old l200 warrior blew the turbo at 32k just out of warranty £1800 for the turbo part alone, couldn't recondition it. had the mitsubishi mechanic doing it as a foreigner in our workshop to try and save some cash.

good holiday in the end though? i rear ended an old dear in a ford ka the other day destroyed the entire back end of hers broke the number plate on mine, gonna cost me 1.5k to put right. not gonna claim as not got protected no claims and got 7 years now.
