Great website.
I have been inspired enough to have a go at my drive.
I read somewhere on your site that there could be problems with building regs if steps touch the wall due to heat loss or something. - do i need to put a 10mm gap or employ some other method or can i put them against house wall as long as below dpc? does it matter if dpc is breached ? Im looking at putting in two steps with 100m risers so it will most likely cover the dpc or be close to it.

It's not heat loss - it's damp penetration that's the problem, so yes: you do need a gap between step and wall and yes: it does matter if dpc is breached.
