has anyone got any information about pointing paving slabs with a pointing gun. is this any good or not and do you have any tips about how if it is ok? thankyou very much rog by the way what the devil is a signature apart from being an illegible scrawl on an invoice that is.also what in gods name is an emoticon
There are all sorts of pointing guns. Some are good, some are rubbish, but none of them are relevant to block paving, unless it's rigid block paving.
Personally, I think they are a waste of time and money, but then, I've been pointing flags and other paving for the best part of 40 years, and I've more or less got the hang of it now. I know that some folk with less experience do find them to be useful, and they do seem to have some benefits when it comes to pointing masonry, but for paving and for me, I'm not convinced.
A signature, or "sig" is a well-established formality on the interweb - it's how you sign yourself, either with your name or a pseudonym, and it's often accompanied by other information, such as your website or telephone number, and, in far too many cases, by some pathetic attempt at a witticism.
An emoticon is a compound word, being derived from "emotion" and "icon" and is the name given to the little smiley/frowny/winky faces people use in text communication. The software running this message board converts certain 'emoticons' into actual images, such as this...:)
