Hi,

I have a few spots where water collects on my patio due to some of the slabs being not quite level.

I would like to level up the slabs in question.

If I remove the slabs do I have to remove & replace the motar bed they are lying on back to the sub-base, or can I add motar to the top of the existing bed ?

Thanks in advance,

Jon

How much do you need to lift them by...Extra bedding layer will be really week if its to thin...

Hi,

Not by very much 5mm at the most but the thin layer would be supported by the existing bed.

Unless there is another way to do it?

the problem with doing this, is that al you will do is shift the puddles
a picture would be handy, but all the bedding layer needs replacing if you lift flags out

...and you don't want it to be level, in any case. All paving needs to have a fall so that it can drain.

just use a hammer and bolster and break out some of the old bed then using a wet sharp sand and cement mix rebed the slab repoint and away you go , hopefully this slab was just layed low and you wont just be shifting the puddle to other slabs
