My back garden is now grass free thanks to my 75 well laid flags. I have chosen to leave 40mm spaces between the flags which I have filled with gravel. It looks really good but as the kids run about the gravel does tend to scatter around and it seems this is driving the wife nuts. Im sure this must be something that has annoyed others as well.
Is there anything that can be used to hold the gravel firmly in place ?

They ain't cheap!

its would be a pain but you could use the concrete method, i seen it somewhere on the site tony did it on a footpath, bed the gravel in concrete then the gravel was exposed with a high pressure jetter after a period of time. i cant remember off the top of my head where it is on the site but i'll have a look.

Bedding into concrete sounds like a good idea if it can work ! I'd be worried that it wouldnt hold the gravel firmly enough and Id be left with lots of concrete seams with pits where the gravel has dislodged. No doubt there is a knack to getting it correct. ???

but re reading it probably not appropriate, have you compacted your gravel. when we lay gravel paths we run the whacker over it to make it firmer under foot.

The exposed aggregate method Giles mentioned works great if you have the right size of gravel, but you have to be careful with all that cement washing over existing paving.

I'll see if I can get a price for one of the better resin binders.....

....right: around 23 quid per 1 litre tin, and, depending on the gravel, you should get somewhere around 1-1.5m² per litre
