Aco hexdrain brickslot

Under the new drainage regulations I will have to fit a channel at the end of the driveway where it meets the public footway/highway. Has anyone used the Brickslot version of the ACO drain on a residential driveway? Compared to the standard Hexdrain would it give a more discreet appearance on a 60mm block driveway and would it cope with the run off?

It depends on the size of area that it will service the and volume and speed that the water is likely the hit it at. I would personally go with the standard channel it's easier to clean and install and won't be so easily over shot. If the area is not too large you may be ok though.

I used some brick slots on a large driveway at the end of last year 250m2. They are definitely discrete and deal with the run off, but IMHO have one major flaw, the slot is big enough to allow most passing leaves and other small bits of debris to enter the channel. I think ACO sell a separate grating system for these drains, but why they didn’t incorporate a grate into the mould I'm not sure. these drains are expensive enough without having to buy extra bits

I'm sure there is a version of BrickSlot with a mesh grating built in. It might be the MultiDrain version, which is usually specified on commercial projects, but I'm not 100% sure. The version that fits onto Hex/Rain/DriveDrain is, I seem to recall, just an open slot big enough to allow fag ends to fall into the channel.
