I Didn't Mean To Come Here, I Just Fell..."

you really should have trapped the rainwater m8,any leaves and stuff will go down the hole and rot, a roddable back inlet gully would have been better in place of that 90 deg knuckle that you have used.
would it not have been easier to build the "chimney" in bricks?
the crack will probably get worse

Goodness, I have no idea what a "roddable back inlet gully is". I intended to concrete fill the top of the "knuckle" to stop leaves etc - just haven't done it yet - I hope my approach does not cause future problems.
I did think about a brick chimney - but didn't know how to lay bricks! I thought building a form and filling it with cement seemed easier. I built a second form and encased the crack all around with a further 3cm of concrete....hopefully this will stop the crack getting worse?
Not sure I know that song Suggers!

its the stuff that comes off the roof into the gutter and down the downpipe that will rot in your well. you know all the leaves and moss the birds drop etc
3cm of concrete !!! no comment
I'm not trying to shoot you down m8,
but maybe some sort of leaf guard at the top of the down pipe would be better than nothing
