No strictly a new topic, but one that is driving me crazy.....
Having been stunned by the price of Yorkstone, I was enamoured by Blue Clay pavers.
Old red-brick house; don't want to make the place look too "busy", so chose the Baggeridge LARGE riven blue paver. No worries they said....then came the excuses, losses during manufacture, lost the moulds, price hike, bla bla bla. All round disppointment.
Anyone know of a rectangular, larger than normal, preferably riven and not drag-faced (but quickly becoming less discerning) blue block paver.......?
Thanks
Blue Clay Pavers
Baggeridge seem to have problems with Blue Clay pavers whenever they are asked for them. They had problems last summer when they were asked to supply a feature circle to a job in Manchester - the quoted 6 weeks delivery!! They had problems last month to provide blues for a job in Cheshire, and now they're still having probs for your project!
The biggest supplier/manufacturer of blues is Ketley Brick in Staffs - Tel: 01384 78361 - I'm not sure if they do a non-standard size, but if you call them, they'll be able to let you know.
There's also Blockleys/Michelmarsh who have recently (ish) launched a range of blues - Tel: 01952 251933 - again, I'm not sure of the sizes available, but they might be able to help.
Have you tried any of the brick factoring companies? They often hold stock that the manufacturers don't know about, and so that might be a good route to pursue.

Thanks,
Shame about Baggeridge, good looking products. It would not have been so bad, but they sent me a sample and we agreed a price, only later to renege on the deal. At least they've finally had the decency to remove the details of these products from their website (but have left the Header).
Any top tips on which brick factor companies? (perhaps ones who have/had good links with Baggeridge?
Blockleys website appears blocked....is it just me or are there things that Minors shouldn't see on its pages!
Thanks as ever.

Your experience with Baggeridge sounds exactly the same as what we have been through with them. They give you a price, accept the order, confirm a delivery date, and then tell you that they don't actually have any stock! What sort of way is that to run a company??
Blockleys' website seems to be working for me. Granted, there is that totally unnecessary FlashMedia introduction that so many large companies are conned into believing we really want to see, but the site does load......eventually.
There's some bumf on the blues on this page but they don't depict a non-standard size.
Brick Factors are located throughout the country. I use a couple on a regular basis; Leigh Concrete in Warrington (strange name considering that they are not in Leigh and they don't sell concrete!), and The Brick Store in Wiggin. You'll have to look in the Yeller Pages to see who's trading in your area, but there will be someone.
