got a job to do and its only a couple of days work but the material costs for the security fencing is about 80% the job, and no account with supplier so can't get 30 days. we normally work on 25% upfront, then defined stage payments.
but with having never worked for the guy don't know if he'll stiff me, so wondering do i ask for more upfront to cover myself? not the way we normally work to ask for full payment upfront? Does anyone do this, like double glazing, conservatories etc?
erm, opinions please gentlemen?
gi

i normally take people on face value if i dont trust them i take stage payments as i go, if i think they are ok i ask for 25% upfront rest when theyre satisfied dont usually go wrong, something like that fencing or anything non stock i would ask for payment for it on delivery or let them pay for it just order it for them ???
