This was very scary ,kobelco micro on my 7.5 ton tipper went to drive down ramps as usual ,tracking forward not thinking and put bucket down while tracking this took power from one track and flung me around and off the ramps still stayed on machine and ended up in a heap with out and damage to me or machine , i was thinking i was on 3ton macnine that will track and move bucket at same time MSH

Holy crap MSH, that was a close one there. No second chances!

Handy to have a forklift to hand - I take it this happened in your yard?

PS Nice ramps, I know they ain't cheap, we had our own made at nearly £900/pair!

i get the k008 on the back of my truck often, and always go up with the bucket forwards, and drive very slowly.
My mates wont ever load it, and think it's too dodgy, but unless you rush and don't think about things, its fine.
Where is the other ramp in this picture. It looks like you are coming down one ramp!

Expanding tracks also make a difference

i have rolled our 1.2 ton yanmar a few times, nothing serious working with ditching bucket on at full offset span round and the weight of the clay taken it over onto the arm then clearing a ditch track fell in ditch and rolled onto the bank only at a 45 degree. i like our bigger machines more stable haha.

a mate of mine drove his 1.5 tonner onto a skip to try and get as much muck in it as possible, and fell off it. machine was bent, luckily he was ok.
I also knew a plant hire guy who tried to load a digger on his lorry with only one track on it, and the machine fell off, trapping his leg underneath. Needless to say his leg was badly broken, and the fire brigade were needed. not good

I was working for a well known Grounds maintnance company a few years back. Working on a row of old folks bungalows alongside a dual carriageway.

There was some fella's with a 1.5 tonner digging a trench in the inside lane.
I go round the back of the bungalows, and come back minutes later...

...3 fellas scratching chins, with one track of the mini in the trench, apparently they'd let the young lad track it back to their trailer, and got a bit too close to the edge.

when i did that as mentioned above i couldn't get it out, no matter how much pushing and slewing i tried with it. luckily had our 8 ton on site that apparently can only lift 500kg but lifted the 1.2 ton yanmar no probs.

I should hope so too Giles!

Our 5 ton machine lifts dumpy bags off wagons etc, unofficially of course!
