is this something you can advise on? original victorian terrazzo floor tiles discovered under carpet. gripper had been fixed with adhesive ie no-nails. any idea how to remove this without damaging tiles? we have found similar tiles to replace cracked ones, is there anything we should know before we lift and replace?
There's a tool we use sometimes to lift floor-coverings from concrete floors - it's a bit like an electric wallpaper scraper, with the blade juddering back and forth at high speed. You work it beneath the items to be removed and it literally 'hammers' itself into the joint, prising up the lino/vinyl tiles/whatever.
Some places call them 'Tile Lifters' and some call them 'Tile Strippers', and the one we use runs off a compressor, but I've a sneaky feeling there is a lecky version in some Hire Shops.
Good luck!
