hi,
this weekend i will be laying my new patio :D
ive dug down about 4 inch and thats about as far is as is possibe due to the very compacted builders rubble.
im not going to lay a sub base as the ground is so hard it would make no difference as far as i can tell.
the patio dimensions are 3.6m x 3.6m (12' x 12'),
im using (64) 450x450x32mm slabs to form a square, (8x8 slabs)
(2 tons of sharp sand and 5x 25kg bags of cement,)
now is the best method, screed bedding then Dry grouting the whole patio?

Yes, if they are pressed flags (which they may well be, from the sound of it)
I reckon you'll have some sand left over. :)

i need a little extra sand to do a path along the side of my drive way.
19' x 2'
