Been asked to quote to remove around 200m2 of block paving on a housing estate. They are going to extend railings meaning this area will be enclosed. They are then going to cover area with bark or something similar.
Couple of questions:
1.What do you do with 10,000 used blocks?!
2.Is it an option to leave blocks down and perhaps put down a breathable membrane then bark or soil or what ever? Maybe remove the odd couple of blocks to help drainage?
What are anyones thoughts?
Thanks

the secondhand value off blockpaving is very little,by the time you lift stack on pallets and move em be cheeper to buy new, unless someone will lift and cart em away who needs em,
what is the point in putting a membrane over and covering with bark or soil? you will have a mess as no drainage nothing will grow in the soil,
taking out a few blocks here and there wont help,
best way dig them out with excavator in back off wagon and away then do as you need to with ground area,2x 8wheeler loads off blocks away, in my area they will take them away for little cost as they crush and resell as road base MSH

Agreed - they are only any use as "crusher food" as I call it!
Seems a waste but thats the way it is, unless you can find someone suitably set up to remove and cart them off-site efficiently........

i'd strip them with our riddle bucket as well so you get just clean pavers then quarries will take them for free no tipping fee or some else locally will have them.
