if you did have to use permeable paving [pending planning application]you cant use recycled crushed concrete it has to be clean stone with no dust [20mm i think] and as gb says if you do get a crusher get a riddle bucket seives a lot of crap out makes job quicker ???

Hi Dan, yeah they went into liquidation AGAIN, but now back up and running AGAIN. Must say, of all micro crushers, TCP the ones to go for....

indeed.

buy a £24,000 crusher thats basically hinowa running gear and a crude crushing box bolted on, or spend £17,000 on a crusher that takes twice the size bits and is better made. mmmm. hard choice.

have you had any info come through on the operators licence yet? going to be costly for some

Spent last couple weeks trawling through new defra regs... not the easiest things to get your head round in detail! Its like everything in business these days: if youve got to have it, youve got to have it.

from what i gather, any crusher over 15hp requires a licence of nearly £1000 a year, and every hirer has to have the licence transferred to them at £50 a time.
It just makes the whole thing unviable, and more the point, no recycling will get done. why the govenment has to tax everything is beyond me

Thats absolutely ridiculous and as you say, put some 'recyclers' out of business/make it unviable.

depends how you operate. we now only do operated hire, so licence stays with us. self drive hire boys will prob have a few probs though. i can see how self drive hire works on micro crushers, but cant understand why anyone would WANT to self operate a 3.5 tonne mini... not the most enjoyable job in the world! we seem to be picking up a lot more business now customers dont have the hassle of operating the crusher - and they are SAVING money as we can get the job done a lot more quickly :)

Cheers Dan, if you want a quote on a specific job, just call me on 07710 546073. We will work Nationwide by arrangement, but obviously depends on scale of job as to whether its viable.
