Does anyone know if the quality of the Castacrete products is as good as the Marshalls ones? I am comparing the Catacrete Thamestone rumbled paving blocks with the Marshalls Drivesett Tegula range. Castacrete is much cheaper and I just wondered if this is because they are poor quality.

Castacrete don't spend anywhere near as much on marketing as Marshalls, nor do they have the behind-the-scenes support, but they are a reasonable manufacturer and if you are looking for reasonable quality at a keen price, then there's nowt wrong with Castacrete. However, if you want the security of a big company and the support they claim to offer, then Marshalls' are your man (or woman!)

Laid 90 x 45 x 45cm Castacrete York slabs and edgings last year. They seem quite satisfactory to this DIY guy.

Scott Bros, Maidstone. www.scottbrospaving.co.uk
Have bought 8 x 38 x 38cm pier caps, 28 x 60 x 28 copings and 24 x 60 x 60cm Standard Riven delivered for £238.
Look OK, think they manufacture on site, have seen moulds, and had to wait for them to make caps.
Won't be able to use them for few weeks until I recover from small op.

Thanks for the replies. I managed to get a good deal on the Marshalls Drivesett Tegula as I needed 225m2 so went with them as they are a more well known brand.
