Navigated the Grand Union canal from Greenford to Paddington basin - what a way to travel and what a way to get right into London.
Heading towards Little Venice, ace little place.

The red arrows flew over suddenly - good job I've got a fast camera, just about caught them! They were impressed with my waterway navigational skills, obviously.

Navigating the adqueduct over the A406 North Circular, the Ace Cafe is just round the corner.
......and back safely in the marina. We got a 9/10 from the various 'experts' watching as we docked!!!!!
Notting Hill was an unexpected bonus......the noise, the smell (of cooking food I hasten to add!!) and the atmosphere. Great stuff. If time had allowed, I'd like to have stopped here. You could 'feel' the bass from the artic trailer loaded with sound equipment through the structure of the boat!!

Some lovely photies - I love narrowboating, it's so relaxing - even the 'chores' like doing the locks - shame the Mrs thinks it's stultifyingly dull
Typical Bank Holiday stuff for me:
(1) Clean up the car ready for selling
(2) Replace the engine swing-arm spacer bushes on the bike
(3) Lay flooring in the en-suite (replacement after it got flooded due to a split pipe)
(4) Plum the shower back in
(5) plumb the bog back in
(6) 'watch' the quite dull Valencia GP
(7) Play about with computers, fora and databases
Taking a lunchbreak now before I go back to the bathroom and refit all the countertops and cupboards before plumbing the hand wash back in.
I'm looking forward to going back to work tomorrow - coud do with the rest ...

Exactly - and everybody is soo friendly and helpful. Life just goes by at however fast or slow you want it to. In our case, about 4 mph!
Going past the McVities factory suddenly made us very very hungry, the smell was awesome!!!!!! I reckon they were baking up some chocolate hobnobs (my fave!) when we were going past!
We boated from Windsor to Oxford a few years back, that was great. Took a week and the weather was hot hot hot, good memories.
I hear from September all boats have to use normal road diesel instead of gas oil!? Bollocks to that, I know what I'd be running mine on!

My in laws own a narrow boat and are currently up in cheshire heading back down to pitstone .
They said they same as you. How are they going to enforce it?
What can they do? clamp yourt boat? crush it?

The only real difference between this and the old one is the new flooring which the insurance-approve 'drying firm' ripped up whilst trying to ascertain the extent of the flood damage. All the 'furniture' unscrews and shifts out (although it's bloody heavy). I'm not so sure about the colour of the floor (it's silvery with black) with the wood of the furniture, but it wasn't my decision ...
But that mirror is 3 inches below the start of the roof line - the extension is a 1.5 height structure - mind you, have you ever seen the female of the species put on make-up? They tend to use that height of mirror whatever height they have.
However, there is a full length mirror just past the door on the left
I'm 6'5" and expanding right now. Mirrors are the bain of my life they're never tall enough meaning I only ever get to see myself from stupid angles when I lean over. :p
i took the mrs and 9 week old baby down to gower near swansea to see the grandparents, the pulley went on my navara on saturday recovered by nissan on saturday didn't get it back till yesterday. plus they didn't give me a courtesy car .
Been stuck in a small village on the welsh coast with no mobile signal no internet and no pub and the mother in law!!!
luckily the lads got on with the job we were on while i was stuck down there.

Yeah, we were waving (two kids on the top of the boat!) as we crossed over the bridge - well I wasn't as I was concentrating on keeping the boat on the straight and narrow!!!!!!
