Hi,

I am looking to undertake some land drainage work.

What is the standard aggregate name used when ordering;
Type a filter material
or
Type b filter material
at a buldiers yard as I can only seem to find expensive decorative aggregates or MOT Type 1 to order by the tonne?

I am based in Warrington so if anyone knows a local supplier (filter materials, Geo Fabric) that would be great.

Many thanks,
Carl

20mm shingle is what you need.

Should be able to get it in bulk bags easily

Just ask for pea gravel, most BMs will supply it as do Wickes etc.............

Tont Mc is fairly local to you so he may know your nearest/cheapest supplier but if your not ordering 20 tonne + the prices are much of a muchness IYKWIM

Hi,

Great, thanks for the replies, it's appreciated.

Warrington Landscape Centre sells 20mm Pea Gravel in Bulk bags (Don't know the price) and Wickes sell 20mm Gravel in bulk bags for £38 so i'll go for one of those.

Many thanks,
Carl

you could try Beesley and Fildes they are competitive with prices on bulk aggregates.
