Hello all from Jerusalem.

We have a big project now of paving in natural stone , granite type , of slabs in size of 25X50 cm and their thickness is 6 cm.

That a rad paving , means, that tucks and buses will be driving on it.

Beneath the paving there will be a concreate plate , about 20 cm high and the joints are 8 mm wide.

We don't want to use wet system in this paving. No glue and no mortar. We would like to use sand bedding in any thickness required.

Now my questions are:
1. Does it make sense?
2. What pare of the british standard shoud be use.
3. Are there spcieal specifications for the sand bedding?
4. Does anybody knows of similier projects in the world?
5. Can anyone supplay some kind of technical spefications that might help? or a general detail?

Thanks for your help.

1 - only for low speed traffic and with the correct type of sett

2 - 7533 Parts 4, 7, 10 and 12

3 - Yes: see 7533:4

4 - There are cropped sett pavements constructed this way in many European countries.

5 - That's consultancy work.

Well thank you.

You were very helpful.

Is 50 km/h considered as low speed?
