Have a pointing problem!

I have laid a sandstone patio and decided to go with the dry mix 4:1 building sand:cement. I did press the mix into the joints but after several days it is not setting (been baking sunshine). Have gone back with water spray but still not reacting. Should I brush out and start again with wetter mix? Or can I saturate existing mix and tool?

thanks for your help!

Rake it out and start again, mix it up a bit wetter, mix up half a gauge at a t.ime,if you can find one of those fold away gazzebo things and you have enough room they are handy for keeping the sun from drying your pointing to quickly.

Why have you used what it just about the most chuffin' useless jointing medium (other than GeoBodge)?

Rake it out and use a wet mortar or a polymeric.
