Yellow pointing - Customer requested

Been to see a job for a customer wants paving out front and at the back, the curious thing was that the existing patio's pointing looked totally normal, and no cracks etc, the customer mentioned that when i lay the new sandstone he wanted the pointing to be yellowish rather than a white/grey.

Now i know this may seem simple but is there a typical mix to guarantee the colour wont go grey? or if there are specific cements to stay away from? or just get a dye?

We had to match some a while ago, we used yellow sand with white cement

...or silver sand with buff cement dye.

easipoint do 10 different colours and can send a sample pack out. they may have a ready mixed mortar that will do the trick

Thanks guys, spoke to a guy at easipoint and he's sending a sample, has anyone actually used this product? any problems with handling of it or staining?

yes

You ideally need a pointing gun. It injects the mortar into the joint and stops staining.
Thenwahen all the joints are full, you wait for it to dry a little, and then you can trowel it off.
You can of course use it like a conventional mortar and trowel it in by hand.
The recommend mixing it up with a paddle mixer on the end of a drill.
