Hi, bit of a beginner here but I've checked the site and haven't got a complete answer as yet. I recently had a desert mint sandstone patio laid and a week later I had a blocked drain. This resulted in some oily / fatty waste overflowing on to the stone in certain patches. I guess this would be similar to BBQ oil/fat spills. It's really spoiling the look. I did use an acid cleaner before reading the site but fortunately this didn't stain the stone. Phew! I also tried the bleach option from this site (possibly too weak a solution), but that didn't really help.

Are there any other products or approaches I could try. Also, for completeness, is it worth sealing the patio and if so, any recommendations for a product that doesn't spoil the natural look of the stone.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Oils/fats are best removed with hot soapy water or, in dad cases, caustic soda

JPP,
A hot water wash is best for this type of stain.
We have a machine that goes up to 250 degrees so steam cleaning really. I noticed you are in London and this is an area we service.
