Mowing strip

Hi.
I have laid a concrete footing all the way round my garden and edge of path to lay a block paving mowing strip on.
I decided to put a concrete footing in rather than bed straight onto moist concrete because my garden has been raised quite a lot and it is still relatively soft in some areas, so i put a good depth of concrete in hopefully to help with any settling.Probably ott but dont want it to move.
My question is do i use soft sand mortar to lay paviours on or sharp sand mortar? Thankyou.

based on what you have done so far I would have thought a sharp sand mortar probably in the 3:1 ratio (with plasticizer) would have been your best bet. As this only a diy'ers opinion you best get confirmed by one of the pros here.

It doesn't really matter as it's a non-critical structure. Whichever is easiest for you.

i did exactly this with baggeridge blues sako,they are still there 4 years later

done exactly the same on my garden with indian stone 12 inch strip all way round dont need to strim just mow it
