Hi can't comment on big part of the quote, but we got our front quoted (37sqm) for removal of lawn, and full subbase etc for block paving for £1800 so, £1500 for your returfing seems a little high to me.

In the end we paid someone £200 to dig out our lawn, £250 from the quarry for the road stone and then £600 for someone to compact, sand and lay the blocks for us.

It took longer doing it this way though! but looks good now. We are having a go at the back ourselves.

£3600 for 44m of H/Moor and 34m of Brick paving that fella is on drugs. H/Moor is sold in 10m packs so you need 5 which even at a very good price will cost £2050 inc vat. I think the pricing is fair and about what I charge they may be slightly heavy on it but not by much. Tracey have you got your sums wrong 37m would need 2 skips if the depth was correct and they cost 140 each then you need plant and labour. £600 to supply and lay 37m the bricks and sand would cost at least £650 if you supplied the bricks then you saved £100 quid was it worth the hassle. £1800 is a good price for a competant contractor.
Can't see it from my house

Hard to say without seeing it but sounds about right to me, providing you get good job and a written guarantee, make sure you get some references from previous jobs also. :)

The £3600 is for block paving for driveway and patio so total would be about 78 sqm of block paving

Well that looks low to me, particularly as it's 2 discrete areas.

As for the other quote, the paving is about what I'd charge while the turfing is hard to judge because we don't know what they've estimated for the drainage. Turfing on it's own would normally be around £10/m strip, cultivate, prep, supply, lay, cut and dress. Disposal could bring that up or down depending on the circumstances.

sounds about right to me,maybe a touch low if anything, most decent stone flag patios come out at around £100 + VAT per metre
if its too cheap i question how they can do it for less than it costs???

Given that you've got such a good price why not ask the guy who quoted? Driveline 50 will be cheaper than Haworth Moor, though.

I wish I had a quid for every time I've said this.... If you're not sure the price is fair, GET MORE QUOTES!

None of us here can see the site and factor-in all those things that can affect the price of a job. Unlike cars, washing machines, tellies and the like, each patio/driveway is unique and given the enormous variation in prices across the regions, we can do no better than guess.
