Maximum angle on a drain run - New foul drain

Is there a minimum and maximum angle allowed for change in direction of waste pipe run? My builder suggested running 2 pipes into an inspection chamber. The angle between one of these pipes and the downstream pipe will be about 90 degrees. Is this OK? I had a vision of effluent building up at the juction because of the disturbed water flow, if you know what I mean. Can anyone advise please?

if you mean the foul will turn 90 deg in the inspection chamber then yes that is fine
but pipes outside the IC can only change 30 deg. at a time to allow for rodding

Foul water should enter the flow of a manhole or main line drain at 45deg to ensure it doesn`t backflow or alter the main line flow. Square junctions and channels (90deg) are often used on storm water systems.
