Hi all,
I'm about to lay a 6m2 patio in the back garden.
The slabs are Bradstone Wetherdale & are dark grey. I'm also going to be putting down some courses of square granite cobbles at selected point between the slabs.
What would you recommend as the best bedding compound, given that I'll be laying slabs (450x450mm & 600x450mm) & cobbles (100x100mm) on it?
Also, I thought it might be nice to point the flags (after leaving ~20mm joints) with a light-coloured compound? How could I best achieve this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bedding & jointing compound choice?

Is light-coloured mortar readily available?
If not, how would I go about making one up with a light colouring?
Also, any advice on the bedding mix would be great. I have recently layed some slabs for a shed base on a dry bed, & was pleased with the results, but for this project there's going to be a bit more space between the slabs & there'll also be cobbles going down, so I'm not sure whether a dry bed would be suitable, in terms of being able to hold everything down?
Any thoughts?
