What would be a reasonable qote to install a second block paving car driveway at the gable end of my house. The site is presently soil and needs all the usual sub work. It also needs levelled as it slopes, though not severely. The total area is under 50sq mtrs.
Is it normal to use whin dust, which the contractor refers to as concrete sand, as a bedding?

A "reasonable" quote depends on the area in which you live, the amount of work required to install the paving, the type of paving, the amount of competition in your locale, and a whole host of other factors. There is no simple 'national' price that is used so that all block paving in all parts of the country cost, say 50 quid per square metre. The only way of obtaining a 'reasonable' quote is to get quotes from at least 3 local contractors and compare them. What might cost 70 quid a square metre in London might only cost 45 quid a square metre in Carlisle, so it's simply not possible for me to tell you what would be 'reasonable' for your project.
Whinstone dust as a bedding material is generally fine, as long as it's not too dusty. It's NOT suitable (in most circs) as a jointing material, though.

HI,,, can someone tell me how would i go about stripping or removing my driveway made from the same stuff used in making roads mainly tar (sorry, dont know the technical terms) so i can lay down bricks and do other things with it. Is there anything else i need to do before i could start putting down the sub-base and all like strip of the road first then the first layer and dig couple of inches or something??? thanks in advance.

You need to remove the tarmac (that's the stuff on your driveway surface) and then, beneath that, there may be a suitable sub-base that can be regulated and prepared to accept block paving.

You have to choose the method most appropriate to your site. On a larger job, we might bring in a JCB, or we might use jack-hammers and a compressor. For small driveways, crowbars, sledgehammers, picks and shovels might be more appropriate, or you might bring in a mini-excavator.
I can't tell you what will work best for your job - I haven't seen the site, which means I can't propose a best strategy. You have to do that bit for yourself!
