Theres plenty of info on this site son of bill. if you get any spare time you could drive around your nearest new housing project and ask the ground workers to show you. Theres nothing like hands on to gain experience.

Asking for pictorial help is all well and good, but my time is limited. I run this site for nowt - it makes no money (it actually costs me several grand a year to run it) and so I have to earn an income elsewhere. When I'm not earning an income, I do try to update the site and add as much new info as poss, but I also have 200+ emails per day to deal with, plus the phone calls, so, as the site has become more popular, the time I have to spend on it has reduced.

If this was a money-making site; if it charged a membership fee or ran crappy adverts for dodgy bank loans or ladies of negotiable affection, I might be able to reduce the amount of other work I have to do to put food in the bellies of my kids and spend more time providing "pictorial help", but I firmly believe the site's popularity is largely due to the fact that it doesn't charge a membership fee or bombard users with unwanted adverts.

I take offence at your claim that "illuminative text" is never forthcoming. Many of the regulars here put in untold hours each week providing help to anyone that asks. On Saturday morning, when you were whingeing about not your posts being taken seriously, what would you have preferred: the speedy informative reply I provided, or to be ignored because I was too busy finishing a drawing or a piece of text for some other enquirer?

I challenge you to name any other website that provides as much info on paving and hard-landscaping as can be found on this site, and all without asking you to put your hand in your pocket or contribute to the profits of advertisers.

Like Son of Bill I am also a learner and all information is useful, but what Tony says above is very true, the amount of free, gratis, nothing, information on this site is quite astounding, whether it is Tony's main site or on this forum.

Son of Bill, why not buy Tony's book and / or CD? I did, well worth it!
Wonder if I will be eligible for some commission!

you will get a move upstairs BGHSE

its called a kick up the a*&e!

as the gaffer says its all free, and the regulars do their best to help people prepared to help themselves.
but i cant be asked to help people who wont do anything themselves.
for blokes like rich, sean, dave pablo, matt, DDD, and myself (apologies for anyone i have missed where art thou stuarty?)
doing it day in day out ,then coming home and helping people with their queries is a way to unwind after a hard day's work
a form of therapy you may say
but as the saying goes some ppl are beyond help

1 st rule of crime
dont get caught, and if you do try something else :)
i have worked with a lot of lads with criminal records ,mostly for silly stuff when they were young (me included) and for a lot of young British men its an unnecessary part of growing up .
a lot of the richest men in this country have been inside, its breaking the cycle/spiral thats the important part

its no wonder the prisons are full these days. Cons get it cushy, full board, washing done, 3 square a day plus a mug of tae to go to bed with, tele, radio, ipods,.. booze, drugs a lady boy ( if your that way inclined, ) its no wonder escapees are knocking the door to get back in. bring back the bread and water and a slap for the yobs, nonces and violent crimes. as far as im concerned Its ok to "earn" a bit to put the food on the table and clothe the kids :;):

Jesus, all I did was moan about a few posts that were designed to wind me up, they were not helpful and not 'lluminative'. Now look what this has turned into!

FWIW, I had my tongue in my cheek when I said about being in jail, ok?

And let me say that this site, combined with other inofmration and my own experience has been helpful overall, and I am grateful. WHat more do you want? Money?!!! :D

I've done my patio properly now, btw. Thanks to those that helped, no thanks to those to tried to take the piss.
