Where to buy cheap granite sets in surrey?

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know a cheap place to buy silver grey granite setts in the surrey area? I am after 100x100x100 setts, and probably around three tonnes of the stuff.

So far I have only really found silverlands but they are incredibly expensive.

Any advice much appreciated,
Cheers,
Rams

If you can handle 100x100x50 then Landscaping Supplies do them at 40p per bit excluding delivery. If you call them for a trade price they should do you a better deal. See www.landscaping-supplies.net.

Robin Barstewards thats £40 a metre quallity 100mm setts don't even cost that. You should easily get 50mm good quallity stuff for £25 a metre +vat.

I'd love to know where we could get them for that price Pablo. Ruscrete are £0.51 a bit plus VAT and delivery. We are bit buggered in this area as we have a Build Center who think that we are all lottery winners. That is why we buy our stone from Southampton! There are no decent stone suppliers in this area at all. They are all charging the earth and when its a product you don't use all the time you just don't have the buying power.

I try to order a few pallets of sandstone at a time to save some money but we still end up paying about £22.50 including VAT and delivery. It's an ongoing nightmare for us.

Maybe we should start a thread on prices and see what the regional variations are. Maybe then the manufacturers will start clamping down on the outlets who think they can charge double bubble south of Watford.

Just read Landscaping Supplies site properly and they are £18.00 plus VAT per m2 or 0.40p per bit - sorry for the confusion!!

If you give them a call they will give you a quote with pallet delivery to Surrey.

Some of their setts were so uneven they were practically spherical, last time I bought them.

Meakin in Maidenhead deliver to Surrey and do 110x110x100 for £0.50 each. You need 8x8 = 64/m2 including pointing joint = £32/metre. I've not found cheaper in the Reading - Maidenhead area.

As for Builder Centre - the less said, the better!!!

Thanx Rich H.

I was really after the 100 thickness, which Landscaping Supplies didn't have, so will definitely look into Meakins.

If it's for a domestic driveway or patio then buying 100mm's is a waste of money as you can't see anything but the top of them and the 50's are more that capable of withstanding the loading.

Its for an edging to a very large lawn, so will see the full depth (100mm) in places (otherwise would of course have used 50s).

Just contacted Meakin as suggested by Rich. They charge £0.70 per piece, and that's for 100x100x100. They don't do 110x110x100. That's more expensive that Silverlands!
