If say building a brick wall, i would dry lay, if the end, needs to be say a quater of half of a brick longer, whats the best thing to do?

I dont get how to cope with it spaced out, needing less then one full brick, I know on the second row, i would cut to stagger, but not sure how to start

Queen closure look it up on a brickwork site. Quarter of a half is an eighth is it not.

I have to say, if your having trouble setting out the first course, do you really feel competent enought to tackle this job?

Save yourself some hassle later on and get a proper brickie in.

You really need to sort your bond first. i expect you know the quoin closure doesnt go in last.
