Recently I had a driveway contractor to block pave my drive and I am struggling to get him to come back and replace two or three individual broken blocks and one with a manufacturing defect. How do I go about replacing these blocks myself without disturbing the surrounding blocks?

Thanks for the reply Tony. I didn't realize it was as simple as that to replace blocks. I was thinking previously that by drilling and bolting a steel bracket to the block and jiggle this to remove the block and prevent adjacent blocks from getting damaged from wedged chisels or bolsters. Thanks.

Wewll, you could do all that, if you had half a day to spare, but just prising out tye blocks with a couple of trowels works fine for me!

There are, ackshirely, special tools (at an equally special price) that can be use to extract blocks from a completed pavement. They go by the strange name of 'Block Extraction Tools', but they are are no better than using two trowels. :)
