Today on BBC news they did a wonderfully graphic piece on the flooding primarily caused by climate changed being directly linked to householders choosing to pave their parking areas with a solid surface rather than a pourous alternative. Being in the Concrete driveway industry this causes us great concern, but having spoke to our local government planning office things seem a little hazy. The planners in fact knew nothing of such new rules or legislation!! Nor did they know where we can find out exactly what is being considered, we would ask if anyone is aware of the FACTS and not just the hearsay regarding this issue.

left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing again I'm afraid. LEGISLATION IS BEING PUSHED THROUGH WITHOUT ADEQUATE THOUGHT.see earlier threads and tony's comments. It is going to affect a lot of people and some are going to go to the wall if this actually becomes cut and dried imho:(

Thanks for that, but just cant find it if you got any clues to where they are would love to read them as if this is coming hard my company will suffer and the quicker we can organise damage limitation the better!. The beauty is to all those synics out there as damm good PIC fitters we can accomodate surface drainage systems, the abiltiy to tip water and manipulate the falls (when possible) is an art we are highly skilled in! We can also further investigate the use of recycling systems by taking the water to a storage tank underground, which will also be nice and warm! and can provide toilet water and garden sprinkler systems for the summers we once used to have when they complain about droughts and wish we could have saved this water and if they had any blooming ounce they would ENFORCE new builds to very economically fit these as standard .... then they would be begging us to fit PIC as no other surface would be able to do this with such elongevity and effeciency!! But that would be too hard for mere politicians and boffins to do!!
off my soap box now, anyway its there Taxs that will be down when genuine companies like ours are shut down!!
