Been reading about romex easy on the site today and there's a good chance I'll use it on my patio project to save me making a balls-up of the pointing.

My question is this: If I was going to use romex easy on indian sandstone, would I still need to butter the edges of the flags when laying, but make sure there was sufficient gap for the romex to go into?, or skip buttering and let the romex do all the work?

Thanks.

if you butter the romex wont work
all joints need to be clear and free of debris for the romex to work

You need a minimum depth of 25mm, and a reasonable joint width for the Romex to bond and cure properly, so buttering is usually omitted.
