Self binding gravel - wheelchairs? - Seeking dda advice

I know that cycle tracks are frequently self binding gravel, but is self binding gravel acceptable for wheelchairs? I'm considering using it between a car park and a Visitor Centre in a parkland setting.

I think it might be a bit soft for wheel chairs, unless the fines are just that,better off with a resin bonded compound , which is long term maintenance free imho;)

I visit a lot of national trust parks etc; And most have S B G. i see a lot of chair users being pushed around with no problems.

The use of SBGs for DDA installations is a bit of a lottery. I've had them accepted without comment, and I've had them rejected out of hand as being a "loose and unreliable" surface.

It all depends on which SBG you use and which authority has final say. If you choose a SBG that compacts really well, with no loose material and little pick-up on the tyres of wheelchairs, you might get it accepted, but if you had in mind summat crap and awful like Hoggin, then it's will probably be rejected.
