looking to see if anyone can help, ive got a job to do, building a small extension out of blockwork, i will be using a wall tie starter kit to tie the new blockwork to the old existing brickwork.
i was wondering on how to go about the damp proof course. do i lay my damp proof course at the correct height on my new blockwork and just expose the existing damp proof and overlap/join them or is there another way? and do i butt up the block work to the existing build and mortar the joint?
Cheers for any help,
Mark

we used to have to do this but they stopped us doing it mick, they reckon it weakens the wall??Mick Leek wrote:Dont forget your verticle cut up the exsisting brickwork. this is also required to prevent damp migrating into what will become your interior wall.
