Hi Andy
I'm in "Hyde" not a million miles from you !
For crazy paving, flags, concrete.. etc We charge a rate of £1.50 per sqaure metre, unless it's absolutely appauling then we may charge a little more, but on average for the Manchester area you should be looking at between £1.50 - £2.50 per Sq/m.

Andy,
I would bite Darrens hand off, with his prices.
Don't mean to be insulting Darren, but down here it would be double.
A ball-park for concrete, sandstone etc is £3.00 per sq. mt, I will discount over a certain size, and also have a minimum charge.

Hi Roger
I know what you mean, but up here people really don't like parting with their money.
You would be amazed at the amount of times we've quoted £1.50 Sq/m and the home owner has turned round and said for that sort of money i'll do it "meself wif mi Karcher" !
Oh stupid me I could have saved a fortune, I never thought of buying a domestic Karcher instead I went and wasted all that money on my Brendon washer :p
On a more serious note though Roger, we had 5,000 flyers printed with the pressure washing on one side with a £1.50 start price and our continuous concrete edging on the other, so the pressure washing is really a bit of a loss leader to push the edging, although we still make some profit.

Darren,
As I said didn't mean to be insulting or anything, but I also know what you mean, my answer is this, you set-up your homebase bought Karcher etc and I'll set my rig up and I'll let my work/cleaning say it all. It won't take all weekend, you won't get covered in s**t I will, and it will look a lot better then you could ever make it, so that is the price. Sorry but I take a pirde in my work and it does pi** me off when home owners think that what me and you do is some sort of hobbie.

totally agree rodger.
You get a proper job done with professionals and proper kit.
And the job gets done in a fraction of the time with very little mess.
There are still some people out there who will pay the price to get a proper job done.
with the proper kit and rotary cleaner, 3 years ago I used to get £1.50 to £2mtr for cleaning flags large areas, and £2.50 - £3mtr for monobloc no problem. On small areas it was £3 - £4 for slabs and £5-£6 for mono. and that was Scotland.
Anybody who wasnt prepared to pay that price didnt get the work done.simple as that!
And quite honestly the smaller jobs were the best ones, ( higher rate, in-out, job done, happy customer, next.) Should never have sold the kit.

there is not a snowball's chance in hell i could have done anywhere near the job roger did with our petrol karcher.
i am a firm believer in every man to his trade,i would rather go and lay some flags on a saturday to pay for something else to be done right than waste time bodging it myself, and regretting it later

A couple of weeks ago I got pulled in by a mate who wanted to spruce up his offices. I recommended a whole load of things but included pressure washing of the 220m+ block paving, which had been unmaintained for at least 15 years.
Roger came to look at it and was confident of getting it looking good and duly came along last week to do job.
I was chuffed to bits and so was my client. The vast majority of the tough marks came out completely and those that just wouldn't shift were so minimal as to be unnoticeable. Add in a bit of landscape beautification and job done.
Thanks a lot, Roger. Nice bloke with some nice kit!
Just look at those kerbs!
